With a choice of aimost 30,000 rooms, from exclusive luxury hotels to small bamboo bungalow resorts, Phuket has something to suit everyoneand every scale of budget. Although primarily a pleasure destination, with its numerous beaches and wid variety of attractions and activities, Phuket also caters to a large number of corporate groups who have found the island’s extensive Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) facilities ideal for all types of corporate function.
Many of Phuket’s most popular hotels and resorts are situated along the island’s west coast – in or near the beach communities of Patong, Kata and Karon – however several excellent hotels are based in the business district of Phuket Town, and a full range of resorts can be found along the peaceful southeast coast beaches of Nai Harn, Rawai and Chalong, and hilly Cape Panwa. Resort development continues apace – with hotel chains now looking to the north of the island. Following the lead of the five – resort Laguna Phuket complex, new resorts are now opening up along the pristine north island beaches of Layan, Nai Thon. Nai Yang and Mai Khao.
